Emergency Medical Services

District EMS Fleet

A 4x4 equipped ambulance in Kirkland Lake

The EMS fleet consists of nine ambulances three are stationed at each of three dedicated EMS stations North, South and Central.

Each of our three stations is also equipped with an Emergency Response Vehicle (ERV). These vehicles are used by EMS Deputy Chiefs to respond to emergency calls if an ambulance may be delayed in response. The ERV may also be used in large scale incidents where the Deputy Chief is responsible for scene safety; triage and ensuring staff follow Health and Safety policies and procedures.

An Emergency Response Vehicle (ERV)

The EMS fleet also consists of three First Response Team Vehicles that assist in the provision of an immediate medical response within communities that due to their distance from the three main bases would result in a delay in ambulance response.

These teams are made up of trained volunteers that respond within their communities to help patients until the ambulance arrives. These teams are located in, Larder Lake, Virginiatown and Latchford.
