Application Process

How to Apply

Apply Online

From our current job opportunities, select “Apply now” at the end of the job posting.

Applications must be submitted online unless otherwise stated.

The “Apply Now” link brings you to our online Career Centre portal where you can select which position you’re interested in applying for. If this is your first time applying through our Career Centre portal, you will be asked to create an account. Once your account is created and confirmed you can begin the application process.

Upload both your cover letter and resume to the Career Centre portal, showcasing how you meet the experience, education and skill/competency requirements for the job.

Email correspondence
The DTSSAB communicates primarily using email. Applicants are responsible for checking their email regularly. You will receive confirmation once your application is successfully submitted.

Late applicants
Applications received after the competition closing deadline will not be accepted.

Unsolicited applications
Applications are accepted for advertised positions only.

Applicant Evaluation and Assessment

Applications will be reviewed to determine the most qualified candidates invited to continue in the hiring process. This may include: telephone screening, in-person interviews, practical assessments, writing test and French language proficiency evaluations.

Reference Checks

Candidates selected to move forward in the recruitment process will be required to sign a consent form and provide three (3) supervisory or professional references. Personal references are not accepted.

References are only contacted if candidates are being considered for final selection.

Offers of Employment

Successful candidates may receive a verbal offer, followed by a formal, written conditional offer of employment.

All offers are conditional upon the candidate releasing to the Employer a Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check.

Offers may also be contingent on providing a Statement of Driving Record or other relevant and reasonable requirements, based on the demands of the position.

Only candidates receiving a formal written offer of employment are required to obtain a police record check or provide other conditional requirements specified in the offer.

Documents provided must be satisfactory to the Employer in its sole discretion.
